Located on 233 acres across from the Mall of Georgia in Gwinnett County, Atlanta's newest hands-on museum is a treasure trove of hands-on learning. The Center features indoor/outdoor classroom space; landscapes and exhibits; a collection of permanent/rotating displays and plenty of hands-on learning. The Center's exhibits will exceed any school's requirement for an academic field trip - they have been specifically designed to meet the requirements of the Academic Knowledge and Skills curriculum (AKS).
Natural features include Ivy Creek, wetlands, granite rock outcroppings, historic mill remnants and early settlement home sites.
The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir (Temple)
A one-of-a-kind experience. This amazing hand-carved structure is an architectural phenomenon. The Hindu Temple is the largest in the U.S. Your group will be in awe at the sight of this magnificent structure and its ornate and regal design. The Temple is completely hand-carved, and boasts 86 decorative carved ceilings and 116 ornate archways. The Family Life Center is the starting point for your group tour. Tour highlights include the viewing of the sacred deities and the Aarti ceremony, the waving of lit lamps before the Deity. Guided tours must be booked in advance. Time & dress code requirements.
The Gwinnett Braves
The Atlanta Braves AAA affiliate play at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, just minutes from Mall of Georgia. The spectacular stadium has a major league field, and group ticket prices are a bargain. Start your groups visit with "whattya have" at the Varsity, home of the best dogs and onion rings around, or try a "Knucksie" at the ballpark, served in Phil Neikro's namesake restaurant.
